The Story
Highly Evolved, the debut album by Aussie alternative rock band The Vines, was first released by Capitol Records on July 14, 2002. Singer/songwriter Craig Nicholls formed the band in 1994 in Sydney and forged a sound that was a hybrid of ‘60s garage-rock and ‘90s alternative grunge. The Vines were a sensation in their native country, and the group took home an ARIA Award in 2002 for Breakthrough Artist-Single for "Get Free".
